如何開始網上教學的工作?甚至是作為一份全職工作?

This is a sharing from a current full-time online language tutor, with a comparison of several language tutoring platforms (including the service charges and some extra tips)

I have been teaching languages online for over a year and am able to earn a living. Maybe this is also a lucrative career opportunity for you?

What are the benefits of being an online language teacher?

  • flexible working hours (you can even teach for only a few hours a week if you are a part-time tutor.
  • work anywhere (no commuting cost, and you can even earn $ while travelling)
  • no need to be worried about losing a job (you can always get new students on the teaching platform)
  • freedom in setting your own price, and get a salary raise (at the beginning you may need to set a lower price to attract students, but once you get several student feedback, remember to raise your price)
  • freedom in choosing your student (you can always refuse to teach a student)
  • freedom in designing your own teaching materials (no pressure from your supervisor, you can be your own boss)
  • the customer service team to help you solve every problem

And a lot more…

Alright, how to begin your teaching journey?

Simple enough. I will now show you the most popular language-learning platforms below.

  1. Amazingtalker (https://en.amazingtalker.com/apply-to-teach/english)
Amazingtalker: Tutor application page

During the application, first, you need to fill in your personal information and upload your language and/or teaching certifications. Then, you have to conduct an interview. You will be asked to conduct a mock lesson with the interviewer (the interviewer will tell you his/her learning need). Once you passed the interview, you can then complete your teaching profile and start to teach.

*On Amazingtalker, the service fee will be deducted from your income. The more you earn, the less service charge you need to pay. Therefore, I always recommend teachers choose only ONE platform.*

2. Itaki (https://teach.italki.com/application)

It is totally fine if you don’t have any language or teaching qualification if you are applying to Itaki.

4. Verbling (https://www.verbling.com/teach?locale=en)
